In March 2020, a blog from a dad’s perspective called Practically Practical Dad’s World wrote a wonderful review about my Iceland: The Puffin Explorers series books 1, 2, and 3. It was one of my favorite reviews of these three books but not because he “liked” my books. In his writing, I could tell he wears his heart on his sleeve and writes from his experiences with products or books while sharing it with his two little boys. His reviews are real and honest, so I decided to visit his blog on and off since this review.
This year has been one wacky crazy mess. 2020, the year we sat in our homes and fell silent. Some of us fell into the world’s stresses and felt anxiety for the first time, and for those who already had anxiety, I am sure it became overwhelming at times. We miss our normal-crazy. We miss our social lives, our family gatherings, and even our schools and workplaces. The normal complaints in our lives before COVID-19 suddenly weren’t so bad. I think we can all agree on this statement, or at least some of it.
Practically Practical Dad acclaims he’s a master at nothing but seems to tackle everything, including two toddlers who think it’s funny to bang on the keyboard as their dad tries to write. I enjoy his item, toy, and book reviews and hope he makes a comeback soon. It’s refreshing to get a father’s opinion and perspective through his blog. This post is my little way of thanking him for his review and his candor and honesty and hoping the best for him and his two boys.
