“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; What we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.” Albert Pike

Trying to live by this statement every day of my life!
Everybody’s journey is unique and important. It’s a true testament on how you are living your dash—your voyage from birth to death. A dark empty hole pierced my heart for the brief moment that I erased in thought, my life without my philanthropy endeavors. Giving, whether time, money, or items, has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. This gift was handed down to me from the generations before, embedded in my heart at birth. As I raised three boys of my own, I led by example and hoped they too would be giving humans, but I believe that no matter how much we teach or preach, it comes from within.

Adopt an animal, plant a tree/save a tree, feed the hungry, sponsor a musician, give to the arts … no matter what you’re passionate about, do you help? Empathy. Compassion. Sympathy. That may just merely be three words, but to live your dash to the fullest is to live by these three words.
How are you living your dash? Will you leave the world a better place than when you arrived?
